Jeanty avoids the worst, not the uncertainty

Ashton Jeanty’s ankle injury is not considered major, according to NFL Network. It is believed to be closer to a low ankle sprain than a high one.

The good news stops there: his Week 1 availability remains uncertain. Las Vegas has no reason to rush back a player who produced 1,321 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns in 2025.

Mike Washington Jr. would become the first option if Jeanty misses the opener. The next meaningful signal will be whether he returns to field work.

The Raiders avoided a long absence; they do not yet know if they avoided an absence altogether.
