Miami loses Trey Moore for start of season

Trey Moore will undergo ankle surgery, coach Jeff Hafley confirmed. The Dolphins still hope the linebacker can return during the 2026 season, but offered no timetable.

His absence removes an option from a defense entering its final preparation phase. Miami must build its Week 1 rotation without him.

The club received better news on offense: rookie Chris Bell is expected to play Friday after spending most of camp on the NFI list with a knee issue.

Moore’s timeline will now depend on surgery and rehabilitation, not the preseason finale.
