Jacksonville protects Brian Thomas Jr.

Brian Thomas Jr. left practice with an apparent shoulder issue, but Liam Coen offered reassurance: the receiver is all right.

The Jaguars are still likely to hold him out until Week 1. At this point in the calendar, a few repetitions are not worth the risk to the offense’s primary vertical threat.

That caution shifts opportunities to the rest of the receiver room during the final evaluation week. For now, it does not change Jacksonville’s September plan.

The next marker will be his return to full practice before the opener against Cleveland.
